About

Hi, I’m Dana. I’m passionate about somatic work because I believe that attuning to the body has a central role in cultivating a deep sense of awareness and presence. Working with me involves learning how to recognize physical sensations in your body as emotional and energetic movement in your psyche. Through my own lived experience, I’ve learned that deepening somatic awareness is integral to being in authentic connection with yourself and others. I am particularly interested in reflecting on generational cycles tied to sexuality and gender.

I am an advanced clinical fellow at Intuitive Healing, a holistic group psychotherapy practice based in Midtown Manhattan. As an advanced clinical fellow, I receive comprehensive supervision and work with people exploring artist-related stress, anxiety, relationships, and loss.

I was previously a trainee counselor for college students at the Brooklyn College Personal Counseling Center and am currently completing my graduate studies in mental health counseling at Brooklyn College. I have completed the Beginning I Somatic Experiencing training and a Foundations of Mindfulness course at Naropa University.

I have personal spiritual and creative practices that inform my work as a therapist-in-training. My personal journey of healing and discovery is ongoing, and I am grateful to the healers and guides who support me along this path. In particular, my mindfulness teacher Dale Asrael was a catalyst for my journey of discovering meditation and the power of the breath in connecting with the body. My mentors and creative communities inspire me to fearlessly swim through the depths.

Outside of this work, I enjoy reading mystical books and playing with my cat, Briar.
