DESIGN Intern on the Civic Engagement Team

Menlo Park, CA

Summer 2017

As a design intern on Facebook’s Civic Engagement team, I designed user experiences for Facebook’s civic products. This involved researching patterns in Facebook’s users, conducting user testing, and designing user experiences with Sketch and Framer that increased civic engagement online. These responsibilities called for a high level of collaboration within the product development team, including product designers, content strategists, product managers, engineers, and UX researchers.

Hackathon

In addition to these day-to-day responsibilities, I led a team of designers and engineers at a company hackathon. Below are photos of the brainstorming process.

Accessible Design Project

Halfway through the summer, I initiated and designed a project in which I turned an inaccessible civic product into one that is now fully accessible to users with disabilities. My design and research process is detailed below:
